About Dr. Charoenkul

Wisanu Charoenkul, DDS MS

Dr. Charoenkul (Chair-en-kul) grew up in the Manhattan suburb of Ardsley, NY, and graduated with honors from the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine with his DDS degree and Orthodontic specialty certificate. Dr. Charoenkul has also earned degrees from Bucknell University and Georgetown University. After dental school, he furthered his training in general dentistry and oral surgery during his residency at Montefiore Hospital in New York City. Before moving to Bellevue, Dr. Charoenkul was in private orthodontic practice in New York and New Jersey and was a Clinical Instructor in Orthodontics, training future dentists at his alma mater. Before entering dentistry, Dr. Charoenkul worked in the biotechnology industry on regenerative orthopedic medical devices.

Dr. Charoenkul has always enjoyed working with children and enjoys the special part that orthodontics plays in the development of a child’s maturity and self-esteem. He has geared his treatment philosophy toward making all aspects of treatment an enriching experience for each patient. Meanwhile, adult patients can rest assured that Dr. Charoenkul’s network of dental specialists means that even the most complicated dental needs will be properly addressed. His dedication to lifelong learning and regular attendance of continuing education keeps him current with the latest techniques and technology.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Charoenkul enjoys learning from various cooking and home improvement shows, digging divots while playing golf and dabbling in graphic design and photography. Although he can’t run as fast as he did when he competed for Bucknell’s Track and Field team, he still enjoys running. Dr. Charoenkul is married to Dr. Stephanie Su, who is a pediatric dentist in Redmond. Their two children, Alex and Kira, have the straightest and cleanest teeth in Western Washington.
